Again: So sorry for the long wait.
Since there were questions about what's going on with the site and judging, I thought I write an Update on the progress or lack thereof...
I started judging and have some categories already done. Unfortunately I have no clue of Sally's progress, since I haven't talked to her in over a week.
I know that she had exams last weekend (which I hope were a success for her), but I'm not sure if that was only the start of the exam time for her or if she finished everything with that.
As for my shedule: Since my computer was making problems lately, I decided to buy a new one. The first one I've got wasn't working like it should be, so I had to return it. The last days, when I wasn't working at my summer job, I tried to get the important stuff transfered to the new computer and install all the programs I need. Up to now I haven't been able to track down my Frontpage CD, so I wasn't able to install it yet. Which means I had to go back to my old computer and do everything for the site there. As if that wasn't enough stress for me, I'm also going out of the country on Wednesday till the 19th. That means packing and a lot of last minute arrangements. I'm not sure if I will be able to finish the rest of the categories before that. But I'm taking my laptop with me on the trip and since contrary to my mum I don't speak the language there, I should have some free time, while they exchange stories. At least that's the plan right now.
And I know I'm also late when it comes to closing the Theme Round of May, but it's closed now.
We got 7 Entries for that. Hopefully judging there will go way faster than in the normal Round.
I wasn't sure if I should go ahead and open up a new Theme Round, without having talked to Sally first and with me out of the country.
But I thought long about it and decided in the end to do that:
Theme for June will be 'Family & Friendship'.

Entries send before Monday, maybe even Tuesday should be getting a confirmation mail before my trip. If you send in your submission later, you will have to wait till the 19th for one. Or maybe Sally has time to send out the mails, but since I can't be sure to see her before I leave count on the 19th just to be sure.

Ok, something small:
We were finally able to decide at least on the Theme Winners of the month April.
Wasn't easy. The videos were all pretty sad, didn't thought it would have such an effect on me, but it did. Took some time to cheer up again. *lol*
Congratulations to the winners.
No real progress with the Regular Round though.
We're really sorry about that, but we just have too much going on right now.
We really don't want to go on a hiatus, so have a little bit more patience with us please.

Ok, finally we can make a real Update again:
We have a new layout.
As you can see.

The videos were all great as usual and this time we even felt the need to give out a Best Video RU Award.

Again more submissions.
Only 4 spots left.
Hope any confusion is cleared up now.
We can only say again, read the Rules carefully before submitting something,
since it saves yourself and also us a lot of trouble.
Make sure that your Email address is right and working, so that you get the mails when we have problems and in order to get the confirmation mail.
If you have trouble building a page, let us know and we try to help you out. We can even give you the template for our Angelfire example page and you can just add your facts.
In case you think building a page is too much trouble, then think of the fact that it might be in your own interest too.
After all most of your videos are under 20MB and right now on a page like YSI at which it expires after 7 days.
On Angelfire you can upload it and it won't expire, with other words, you won't have to upload it over and over again.
It also prevents us from bothering you again, when we're in the progress of judging and can't access your video for that reason.
In case your video is too big for Angelfire for example, you still have the possibility to keep your link up to date.
We always check the page for a new link first, before sending out a mail asking for a new link.
Just think about it.

Hi everyone.
We're really sorry that judging takes so long this Round.
I guess the whole thing is mainly my fault and I thought I own a little explanation:
Right now a lot of my free time is spent on RL and I can barely squeeze in the time to watch videos. I'm really sorry about that.
I'm planning a trip to the USA in May, to see my favorite actor and do the normal tourist thing when I'm already there and everyone who planned a trip themself before probably knows how time consuming this can be.
Since my board buddy, who is going with me, has to work and therefore has less time than I do, I do must of the running to tourist agencies and collecting information.
But apart from a few small details we cleared most of it now and normally should be able to book everything by Monday the latest.
Which means I should have a lot of time again next week and hopefully judging will go fast then and I can sit down with Sally and make the final decisions.
I know that Sally had a quiz last week, let's hope everything went well for her.
I haven't seen her online since then.
I also know, that she started on the Awards for the first four categories we decided in, therefore she already decided on the look of the Awards this Round and making them shouldn't take that long hopefully.
And again I am or better we are very sorry about the delay.

Ok, some Updates:
We finished judging the 'Best Of The Best' Round.
Sally is just working on the remaining Awards, therefore we should be able to announce the Winners soon.
For this special Round Sally and I decided to do animated Awards.
Or more like we decided that Sally does them. *lol*
I already saw the first ones and I can promise you, that they look great.
Recently I got more and more mails from vidders saying, that we should add a few more categories.
Up to now we always refused doing so, since we think it won't work out in the long run.
The first few Rounds entries probably wouldn't be a problem, but then all the existing videos for those categories would be used up and we have even more categories which don't have enough entries to be judged.
That's why I thought about other possible solutions for the requests and suggested an idea to Sally and she was ok with it and that's why we will have a Theme Round from next month on.
Theme Rounds won't have a entry limit, but a time limit.
You'll have one month to submit your videos for the monthly Theme.
I'll later update with the March Theme, the Rules and the submit form.

'Best POV' is the newest category.
If you already submitted your video(s) and are now interested in the new category, there are two ways to handle it:
1. Either you only chose 2 categories, but think that your video fits in the new category as well, you're free to send us a mail and we will add the third category.
2. Or you already chose three categories, but think that the new category fits better than one of the others you've chosen, you can just exchange it. Write us a mail, let us know which video we're talking about and which category you don't want anymore.

Again very sorry, that it took longer to open up the new Round, but I got ill and even though I wasn't in bed all the time, I still didn't spend as much time online as I usually do and I had to clear up some stuff, about an upcoming trip I'm planning, therefore most of my available time went in that direction.
But I'm sure you don't want to hear more details about that, therefore on to the important things for you:
Round 10 is open for submissions.
Rules changed, therefore read them.
One of them is for example that we can't accept files on Megaupload anymore, since Sally's country doesn't seem to invest enough money into the commercial part of the site and therefore her country only gets a limited amount of free spots to download files and those are mostly taken.
We're sorry about any problems that might cause for you.
'Best Of The Best' judging is still going on, we hope to be able to announce winners soon though.
The entries for that were moved in the Archive section.

We're finally back online.
For all those of you who wonder what happened to us:
Our old host got hacked and all files and accounts were deleted.
Since that happened for the second time, we decided to search for a new host, which we found in 'Harder2Breathe'.
Then there was the fact that Sally had a lot of exams coming up, which of course were more important.
Her other site with all her creative work was on the same host that got hacked and since she had no backup on her computer, she lost everything and therefore a lot of time was also spend to search for remaining files all over. I personally also had a lot of important stuff in RL going on.
That's why we took so long to judge. We're very very sorry about your long wait.
Oh and we would be very thankful if you could update your links to us.
But...

Right now we can't tell you yet when we will be able to announce the winners,
since for Sally the finals are starting and I have a few things to learn for
myself.
But when the winners are announced everyone who took part in previous Rounds and
this, gets a notification mail like always. Therefore don't worry, you won't
miss it.
When we're sure, when we will be able to announce the winners we will also post the date here.
Please have a little bit patience with us.
We also again moved some Entries around from 'Angst' to 'Anti-Couple'.
Read the Category description and you should know why.
And just to prevent further confusion:
'Anti-Couple' doesn't mean that you don't like the portrayed couple. It has
nothing to do with like or dislike. Anti-Couple just indicates, that that couple
is not together right now, or friends can't stand each other at that specific
moment.
If you break up or have a fight with someone you don't necessarily like your ex
that much at that moment, even though later you might be best friends with them
or you're even a couple again.
Anti-Couple just means that there is relationship drama in that video and that
at that time not everything is perfect and happy.
Hope that cleared some confusion about this category.

Into Round 6 made it 30 entries, even though it could be 32 in the end, if Lauren can fix her entries in time.
Sally and I are going to look into the submissions again and this time might change for some videos the categories if we think it fits better. It can only help you after all.
This especially applies to Angst and Anti-Couple.
Therefore don't be all surprised if your video suddenly appears and might even win another category than you applied for.

Hi everyone.
I'm very sorry about all of the confusion.
Partly I have to say it's my fault and for that I'm really sorry.
Because of too much traffic on the site it was most of the time down for the last week of the month.
Sally and I looked for a place to host us and found LBN Hosting.
Our URL was changed to http://CarelessWhisper.dark-obsessions.net.
Since
www.CarelessWhisper-Awards.net.tc was down again and not available at
that time, I completely forgot to take the site down and leave a message about
our move.
Therefore with the new month the site was available again and some vidders
started to submit their videos, since the old account stated that we have some
open spots left. That's not true.
Round 5 is closed.
Unfortunately LBN Hosting was the victim of a hacker and all the sites are gone, ours as well.
Hopefully for the winners announcement it will be online again.
When the site is up at the new place, I'll make an announcement here.
This time I won't forget it, I promise.

SO SORRY!!
Sorry for the delay, but Sally and I just weren't able to catch each other online sooner.
The whole vacation thing completely threw us out of the loop.
But on Monday (September 5th) we will open up the next Round definitely.
Therefore sort through your videos and decide what to nominate and maybe re-read the Rules in the meanwhile, so that we won't have so much problems when the time to nominate comes. ;o)

Unfortunately we had to disqualify a vidder this Round, since she used clips, which was verifiably taken from someone else's video.
Please we don't want that to happen again, so make sure to always give credit to the places where you've got your clips from and if you really want to use clips from another vidder, ask the other person first!!!

We reached over 30 submissions after two days already, therefore this Round is closed.
Thanks for all the submissions guys, we feel very honored that you were so eager to run in this Round.

After that we have to go on a more or less short break.
I leave on August 18th for LA, to hopefully meet my favorite actor for the first time in RL and Sally goes on a ten days vacation on the 20th, but after that we will be back and eager to see more of your work.

We (especially Sally) worked hard, to get everything still ready on time and we made it:
Winners of Round 2 are announced!!
The submission form is up again, so go ahead and nominate your videos for the next Round.
But please to prevent all the trouble from last Round, read the Rules before you do so.
This Round we had in 3 categories only one video entry.
Sally and I decided that it would be best, not to give out Awards in those categories, since we can't really judge them, since there's nothing to compare the videos with.
But we don't forget about those 3 videos either (or about others in the future), instead they will run in Round 3 too and if there's again no other entry one Round more, but after that it's over. Therefore they have two more changes.
Those vidders don't have to submit their videos again, those will be automatically added from us.
Every vidder, whose videos runs in more Rounds can still add 3 more videos to the Round, like everyone else, but since only one video per vidder can run in the same category the new ones can't be added in the one, the previous one is running in, but if the vidders wants it, the new one can run in that category instead of the previous one.
But that means, that if the video was not only submitted for the category in which it couldn't be judged, it can not be submitted again for the one category at a later time, if not massive changes were made. Of course if the video was only submitted for the one category it couldn't be judged in and the vidder wants to exchange it with a new one, the previous will be seen as never entered at all and therefore can be submitted again any time.
I know that sounds all very complicated and English not being my native language doesn't make it easier, that's why I'll give an example and I hope it's more understandable this way:
Vidder V submitted "Nightmare" for 'Best SFX' and 'Best Angst' and "Nighmare 2" for "Best Action". For 'Best SFX' and 'Best Action' was no other entry made, apart from the ones from V.
Sally and I would add "Nightmare" for 'Best SFX' and "Nightmare 2" in 'Best Action' for the next Round again, V wouldn't have to do anything.
V decides now, that (s)he has newer, better videos for those categories now, which (s)he would like to submit in exchange for "Nightmare" and "Nightmare 2".
Since "Nightmare" was also submitted for 'Best Angst', it can't be submitted again in a future Round for 'Best SFX' or another category, as long as not massive changes were made. "Nightmare 2" can be submitted again, since 'Best Action' was the only category it was running in and since we didn't judge that category, we didn't saw the video yet.
Hopefully you were able to understand, how we will handle such things in the future. If there are still questions, you can just ask us.

I just wanted to say that we might not be able to stick to our winner announcement date after all.
It's not sure yet, we still could make it, but it's also possible that we don't.
Sally has huge troubles with her internet connection, so that many downloads break up when they're nearly done and they don't even resume on the point where they were disconnected before.
Her connection isn't that fast to begin with, so that really backtracks her.
I can't really help her out either, since we live in different countries and so I can only do the same you guys are doing, uploading it somewhere or send it to her directly while chatting.
Of course it's sad that we probably can't keep to our date, what we really wanted to do always, but we can't change it.
We all have computer problems once in a while, so we know that those can screw up plans badly.
Everyone who participated in this Round will get a mail (like always) when the winners are announced, therefore you don't have to worry that you miss it, in case we really can't get them up on the promised date.
In case others, who didn't submit anything to this Round, would like to get a mail too, they can just write us a mail or leave a message in the Tagboard with their mail address.
I hope you can understand that and you're not disappointed or mad. We really try our best as fast as we can.

We are way over our limit with 43 video submissions...
Thanks for all the great submissions, though.
But one thing we really have to criticize:
It seems that people don't read the Rules and we mean like 3/4 of all the vidders, who submitted their videos.
There are some videos from vidders, who didn't make it this Round, since they didn't read the Rules, forgot something in their submission and then didn't even bother to answer our mails, or just fix it. We can't do more than sending a mail (twice), so if your video was not added because of that it's your own fault.
We spend a lot of time on you, by offering you the site, updating it, downloading your videos, watching them all (sometimes even a few times), judge them, then discuss them between us to come to a decision, make the Awards and answer your mails and questions.
We do that all for you, therefore show us a little respect (which we really think we deserve) and READ THE RULES.
What we do takes way more time, then it takes you to read the Rules.
And always keep in mind, that after all you want something from us, so play by the Rules. ;)
Winners will be announced on August 1st, 2005.

There were great entries and sometimes it was very hard for us to judge.
Congratulations to all winners and everyone who didn't win: Don't give up, there's always a next Round.
